Description: As general contractor, JV Virgin Islands and its direct sub-contractors performed the entire FCC project. JVVI developed all detail plans, schedules, logistics and manpower requirements; managed all heavy lifts; performed heavy rigging, specialty welding and specialty tower work; installed heavy structural, pipe, expander and third-stage separator and large ducts; provided specialized laser dimension verification; repaired flue gas boiler; replaced tubing; performed hydrocutting and bolt torquing; removed catalyst, installed scaffolding and elevators; painted and managed shipping.
This was the first major FCC turnaround that maintained its budget and met its original schedule. One of our proudest achievements was completing the 450,000 man-hour project with one first aid, zero recordables and zero lost time accidents. The weld rejection rate was an outstanding two percent. All major lifts were completed safely and ahead of the scheduled 13 days. To say we are pleased would be an understatement.
